Sponsored by the Centre, on Oct. 4 nineteen students and faculty travelled to Toronto to see the Soulpepper theatre company's rendition of Schiller's great tragedy Maria Stuart (1801) in English translation. In Nov. 2008 a further Centre theatre excursion is planned to Stratford to see Lessing's Emilia Galotti, performed in German, and directed by Michael Thalheimer.
